Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has launched the Mera Pani-Mera Virasat scheme while issuing a digital message on Wednesday. Emphasizing the farmers to adopt crop rotation, the Chief Minister said that Rs 7,000 per acre incentive will be given to the farmers who give up paddy cultivation in the areas included in the dark zone under Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana. This government scheme has been launched with the aim of giving awareness to the farmers about water conservation. So according to the state government Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana 2020 will help in stopping the falling groundwater level.
The Chief Minister also said that the Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana web portal will be made soon. He said that in the first phase of the scheme, 19 blocks have been included in which the depth of ground water is more than 40 meters. The government appealed and said that all farmer brothers should consider water as their heritage, that is why steps have been taken to start this Mera Pani Meri Virasat scheme for the conservation of water in the state.
Farmers can cultivate Maize, Arhar, Moong, Urad, Sesame, Cotton, Vegetables. In which the government assured that the purchase of maize and pulses would be done with a guarantee at the minimum support price.
Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana Online Registration Form
Interested farmers can follow the steps given below to apply online for Haryana Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana:
- Interested farmers first go to www.agriharyanaofwm.com portal.
- Click on the option of “Farmer Registration” on the homepage of the website
- After clicking on the tab of Farmer Registration, Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana Kisan Online Application Form will open
- After filling the information asked in the online application form, click on the “Submit” button given below, after which the registration for incentive amount of Rs 7,000 per acre will be completed if the farmer leaves paddy cultivation.

The Chief Minister said that 19 blocks have been included in the first phase of the scheme, out of which paddy planting is more in eight blocks, including Siwan and Guhla in Kaithal, Sirsa, Ratia in Fatehabad and Shahabad, Ismailabad, Pipli and Babain in Kurukshetra. . Apart from this, those areas will also come under the purview of Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana 2020, where tubewells with a capacity of more than 50 horse power are being used and in blocks where water is below 35 meters, paddy cultivation is not allowed on panchayati land.
It covers Pehwa, Thanesar, Jakhal, Pataudi and Fatehabad areas. If the farmers of other blocks also want to give up paddy cultivation and switch to other options other than maize, they can also apply for the scheme. Amount will be given. All farmers should keep in mind that this amount will be given only to those who leave paddy cultivation in this scheme.
Since the season of paddy cultivation is coming, this amount will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the farmers who do not cultivate paddy and cultivate maize or other alternatives.
Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme Alternate Crops
The CM told that where the water level is 35 meters, permission will not be given to cultivate paddy there. Another official told that today some part of the state is in the dark zone. There are 36 blocks in this where the decline in ground water level has doubled in the last 12 years. Where earlier the depth of water was 20 meters, it has become 40 meters today.
An incentive of ₹ 7,000/acre will be given to farmers who give up paddy cultivation in a certain quantity.
He said that the gram panchayats under whose jurisdiction the water level in the land is more than 35 metres, will not be allowed to plant paddy on the land and an incentive amount of Rs 7,000 will be given to the panchayat. Therefore, instead of paddy cultivation, farmers can grow other alternative crops which consume less water than paddy:

3) Urad
4) Guar
5) Cotton
6) Bajra
7) Sesame
8) Summer Moong (Baisakhi Moong)
This will ensure that the availability of water will be ensured for future generations as well. The government will also make arrangements for agricultural machinery required for sowing maize. Will arrange dryer for maize in mandis. If farmers adopt micro irrigation and drip irrigation system, then 80 percent subsidy will also be given. He said that some companies would be listed on the Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana web portal to provide quality maize seeds to the farmers.
